Christopher Dennis served as the Resident Lighting Designer and Lighting Coordinator with the National Ballet of Canada for 14 seasons.
He has created memorable and evocative lighting designs for many of the company’s productions, including James Kudelka’s Cinderella, Matjash Mrozewski’s A Delicate Battle and Jean-Pierre Perreault’s The Comforts of Solitude. In addition to his time spent at the National Ballet of Canada, Christopher has designed for Modern and Contemporary dance companies such as Coleman and Lemieux & Compagnie, ProArte Danza and Moonhorse Dance Theatre.
Mr. Dennis’ lighting designs are in the repertoires of ballet companies around the world, including American Ballet Theatre, San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet and West Australia Ballet.
In addition to his work in dance, Mr. Dennis has designed lighting for various opera, theatre and film productions and is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada.
Christopher is currently the Assistant Resident Lighting Designer for the Metropolitan Opera.
